As a young adult working with children and families involved in the criminal justice system, I struggled to connect with the expectations systems had of children's cognitive and developmental capacity. I vowed to make my way to a career that compassionately and developmentally understood children and their families.
In 2019, I began studying postgraduate psychology at Deakin University. It was here that I came across the Therapeutic Child Play subjects. I took one unit, and I knew I'd found what I had been looking for. I transferred to the Masters of Child Play Therapy and moved interstate to work for a seasoned Supervising Play Therapist to obtain hands on experience whilst finishing the degree.
I specialise in supporting children and families who have experienced in-utero & early years trauma, attachment disruption, and domestic violence. As an AuDHD'er myself, I am passionate about supporting Neurodivergent families. I have worked extensively with children who have the following neurotypes or experiences: Autistism, ADHD, PDA, CPTSD and Selective Mutism.
Since completing my Masters in Child Play Therapy. I have continued to study a number of Play Therapy and Counselling modalities to provide an integrative (or multi-modal) approach for families. In 2025, I travelled to the USA to participate in the American Play Therapy Association's California Conference to continue to learn from therapists around the globe and advocate for the progression of play therapy in Australia.
