As a young adult working with children and families involved in the criminal justice system, I struggled to connect with the expectations systems had of children's cognitive and developmental capacity. I vowed to make my way to a career that compassionately and developmentally understood and supported children.
I began studying postgraduate psychology at Deakin University. Here, I came across the Therapeutic Child Play subjects. I took one unit, and I knew I'd found what I had been looking for. I transferred to the Masters of Child Play Therapy and moved interstate to work for a seasoned Supervising Play Therapist to obtain hands on experience whilst finishing the degree.
I am passionate about supporting children and families who have experienced in-utero & infant trauma, attachment disruption, domestic violence, developmental delay, and families who are Neurodivergent.
